Bearing Assemblies are combinations of bearings with an adapter or machined sleeve that allow the bearing to fit into tube sizes it wouldn’t fit in alone.

Adapters are stamped, zinc plated, metal parts that bearings are pressed into. Most adapter assemblies must be crimped into tubes which means the assembly is not replaceable. The bearing within the adapter is also not replaceable because the adapter is deformed during the initial bearing installation. The larger diameter assemblies, with body OD’s of 3.187, are press fit and can be replaced.

Machined Sleeves are metal rings that fit over the bearings to increase the outer diameter. Most sleeve assemblies consist of spherical ABEC bearings, either Insert bearings of Agricultural bearings. Spherical bearings cannot be installed directly into a tube alone. The sleeve has a spherical ID that the bearing can be installed into and then the entire assembly can be installed into a tube. The same bearing can be used with a number of different sized sleeves to fit into different sized tubes. All the sleeves are unflanged.
