Plastic bearings have molded plastic bodies and stainless steel balls. The bodies are made from Delrin or some similar plastic. The balls are 420 stainless steel and there is always a ball retainer which holds the bearing together. These bearings are used for highly corrosive environments and can be totally submerged. There is no metal-to-metal contact so they do not require lubrication but they have very limited load capacity.
